645   PERGAMON WARE DISH          second half of II - first half of III century A.D.          Eastern Sigillata A  Pale orange fine-grained fabric; dark red-brick slip covering entire surface. Rounded sides; nearly horizontal wide rim with four grooves. Wide short foot, flat bottom. Pair of horizontal trapezoidal handles, flanked by volutes. Perimeter and handles decorated with round notches, forming grape bunches and rosettes. Embossed central medallion depicting Helios in a quadruple chariot, enclosed in triple grooved and notched  border. Intact. Lime deposit, multiple root marks. H. 2.2"(5.6 cm),  Max. Rounded sides; nearly horizontal wide rim with five grooves. Wide short foot, flat bottom. Perimeter decorated with round notches in low relief. Embossed central medallion depicting bearded syncretic deity holding a staff, flanked by cornucopia and ears of wheat (?), enclosed in double grooved border. Mended from several fragments.  H. 1.5."(3.8 cm),  D. 10.7"(27.2 cm). $ 1000

672   LARGE STAMPED DISH          second half of I - first half of II century A.D.          Eastern Sigillata Orange-brown fabric with mica inclusions; red-brick slip with metallic shimmer covering entire surface except for foot, fired brown in some parts. Vertical wall with angular flange moulding and rounded rim with two inner grooves. Tall, wide pedestal foot. Stamped with two wide rouletted circles of fine linear notches and  planta pedis in center of grooved inner circle. Mended from four fragments. Several chips on rim. 784   STAMPED FLANGED BOWL          second half of I century A.D.          Eastern Sigillata Orange fabric with mica inclusions,  red gloss covering entire surface. Conical body with rouletted angular flange, vertical wall above it and rouletted top with groove below.  Short angular foot with flat resting surface. Floor is slightly convex. Rectangular stamp in three lines: ΚΑΓ/ΔΕΙ/ΝΟΥ. Graffito on underside: ΓΑ. Intact. H. 1.9"(4.8 cm), D. 3.5"(8.9 cm). $ 450

433   FLANGED BOWL          second half of I - first half of II century A.D. Pale orange fine-grained fabric with dull red slip covering entire surface. Conical body with angular flange, vertical wall above it. Base is flat. Wheel-marks at lower body. Interior covered with pronounced spiral wheel-marks. Intact. Several chips on upper part. Lime deposit on the base. H. 1.6"(4.1 cm), D. 3.3"(8.4 cm). $ 85

434   BOWL          IV century A.D. Pink-orange clay with dark red slip covering entire surface, with the exception of bare spots on lower body and base. Rounded body with thick fabric; wide, short foot. Broad horizontal rim, slightly downcurved. Intact. Lime deposits on the exterior. H. 1.6"(4.1 cm), D. 4.1"(10.4 cm). SOLD

Orange fabric with rather patchy dull red slip covering entire surface, with the exception of bare spots on exterior of lower body and base, fired brown in some parts. Conical body with vertical wall below rim. Broad downcurved rim with two grooves, small low foot. Three interior grooved concentrical circles in center.
